Bloodhound - Driven with passion, enhanced with ZOK
ZOK intends to play its part to ensure the success of Bloodhound, the next world land speed record attempt.
The Bloodhound Project is described by Richard Noble as “the engineering adventure for the 21st century.....pushing the limits and inspiring our young engineers and scientists with our incredible car capable of 1000mph". Richard Noble is the project sponsor and holder of the land speed record between 1983 and 1997.
Andy Green the current holder of the land speed record since 1997 will be behind the wheel of the Bloodhound car, steering it to the supersonic speed of 1000mph at the record attempt to be made in 2011.
This very special car has three power plants propelling it past the speed of sound. Moving the car to 300mph before the rocket engine takes it to the 1000mph challenge, is a Roll-Royce EuroJet EJ200 Typhoon aircraft jet engine. ZOK cleaning solutions will be used to keep this engine performing to peak thrust in between each run at the 1000mph record attempt.
ZOK has been providing gas turbine compressor cleaners for almost 30 years and has a reputation for product excellence and total reliability. ZOK is very proud to be associated with this land speed record attempt and will be with the Bloodhound team all the way as they strive to reach this tremendous goal.
